Shared and private counterparties
Purpose of sharing counterparties
When sharing your counterparties, they will be made available for everybody in your Isabel subscription. Other colleagues will be able to create payments using your shared counterparties.
Requirements for sharing counterparties
- At least 1 person has to be suscribed to the MultiSign module. This person can share counterparties.
- All users within the same ebanking contract can select a shared counterparty in a payment wizard.
- Only persons subscribed to MultiSign can modify and save a shared counterparty.
Managing counterparties
Search a counterparty
In the search field in the top left of the window, you can search based on the name or alias of your counterparty.
To view the details, click on the row to open the counterparty.
TIP: The search can work with wildcards. Examples:
- * to replace multiple unknown characters
- ? to replace a single unknown character
Create or modify a counterparty
A single counterparty can have multiple account numbers from the same country. If this is the case you do not need to create multiple counterparties.
- Search the counterparty you want to modify or click on New Counterparty (in the left navigation menu).
- Encode or update the fields with your available data (see Sharing or unsharing a single counterparty for the sharing options)
Important fields:- Alias: an internally used name for your counterparty. If this is left blank, the counterparty name (from the right) will be used).
- Account country: define the country of the account. A single counterparty can have multiple account numbers from the same country. This field cannot be changed if the counterparty already has an account.
- Name: the name of your counterparty. This will be included in all future payments you create with this counterparty.
- Address: the address of your counterparty. This will be included in all future payments you create with this counterparty. The lay-out of the fields will change depending on the country you choose.
Click on Extended at the top right if you require additional address fields : department, sub-department, bulding name, floor, po box, town location, district, country sub-division.
- Click Create (or Save, when modifying an existing counterparty) to register your counterparty.
- Now you can add account number(s) to your counterparty.
Add or modify a bank account number
You can only add an account number on an existing counterparty. See Creating a new counterparty on how to create a counterparty.
- Search the counterparty of which you want to add or modify the account number.
- In the details of the counterparty, click on an existing beneficiary account or click on the Add button.
- Encode or update the fields with your available data
- Depending on the account country the available fields for the Account number differ.
- If you have the bank name or clearing code instead of the BIC you can click Search and use these fields instead (this is sometimes required for NON-SEPA payments).
- Use the fields "Defaults" to encode a default message to beneficiary, amount or currency.

Import and export counterparties
Import counterparties
Export counterparties
Counterparty data cannot be transferred directly from Isabel 6 to other eBanking platforms (provided by partner banks such as Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC, ING,...) or financial applications such as ERP software or accounting software packages.
There are however 2 ways to export the counterparty data from Isabel 6:
- In the Manage Counterparties screen, click Create report at the top of the list and select TXT format. Be aware of the fact that this data is not structured in a manner that allows for it to be easily parsed by software. This data will in all likelihood have to be processed manually.
- At the explicit request of the customer, Isabel Group can provide an export of the counterparty details in an XLSX file. Please be informed that this will be a fixed data set (it's not possible to select a specific layout of the information provided) that will likely require manual manipulation before it can be imported into your third-party application/platform. Data will be provided "as is", Isabel Customer Care cannot assist you in importing this information into a third-party application. This is a paid service that will be billed directly to the customer via the Isabel invoice. If you would like to make use of this service, please contact Isabel Customer Care.
Move your counterparties to another user / another subscription
Please contact our Customer Care to request a transfer of your counterparties to another user. This can be to a user in the same Isabel subscription (e.g. caused by a replacement of a user) or another Isabel subscription (e.g. caused by a migration to another Isabel contract).
It is strongly advised to request this transfer before removing the original owner.
What will happen to counterparties when a user is removed from the subscription
- Shared counterparties will still be available for other users. If you remove the only user subscribed to MultiSign, nobody else in your Isabel subscription will be able to manage these counterparties. It is therefore recommended to subscribe another user in your Isabel contract to MultiSign.
- Private counterparties will be removed after a few months. It is therefore advised to first request to transfer your private counterparties to another user before removing the user.
Troubleshooting
The counterparty can't be found in counterparty management
If you are unable to find your counterparty, verify if you can use it to create a payment. In case you are able to use the counterparty while creating a payment but you are unable to find the counterparty in counterparty management, the counterparty is most likely shared and you are not subscribed to MultiSign.
In case you want to perform changes to this counterparty, you can ask a user with MultiSign to perform the required changes.
Message "You have too many counterparties to display at once. Please use the 'Search' field to limit the list"
This message is displayed if you have too many counterparties to display. Narrow your search criteria to find the counterparty you're looking for.
Alert "The selected counterparties cannot be deleted. At least one of them is shared within another contract for which you do not have the appropriate management rights"
You are trying to remove a counterparty that is also shared by one of your colleagues with colleagues that don't have a direct connection with you. If you understand this risk, you can limit the access rights to personal in the details of the counterparty, and still remove the counterparty.
